About the Family!
Amanda and Simone are the co-owners of Rocking HK Ranch. They are a mother and daughter with over
50 years of horse experience between them.
Simone started her equestrian journey as a teenager in Germany. As a young girl, Simone was not able
to afford to keep her own horses and spent her time volunteering at some of Germany’s best equestrian
facilities. She would do the barn work just to spend time with the animals she loved so much. Eventually
the owners took notice in her incredible ability to communicate with even the most aggressive horses.
Simone’s presence seemed to offer the horses comfort and she built a strong and trusting bond with
every equine she had the pleasure of being with. Simone began riding English and competed in dressage
and hunter jumper events. After moving to Colorado, Simone began training in the Western discipline.
She then went on to compete in sorting and gymkhana events. Her love always remained with training
and building that bond no matter the discipline. She spent time with various trainers and learned
everything she could about each discipline to derive her own unique and highly effective training style,
that doesn’t focus solely on the inside or outside of the horse, but both.
Amanda is Simone’s daughter and grew up on the back of a horse. She got her passion from watching
her mother work miracles with problem horses and learning to ride from the great Scott Hall. Amanda
went on to train her own horses after her mother’s philosophies and brought those strategies to the
performance and event horse world with incredible success. Amanda became a successful professional
barrel racer and trainer. After having her son in 2013, Amanda retired from the professional world to
focus on being a mother. Amanda now focuses on
teaching others to create the bridge between performance and natural horsemanship.
Together this mother and daughter duo work to help others build a lasting and trusting relationship
between horse and rider with a unique training program that is unlike any other!
